Job Title: Forklift Operative

 

Reporting To: Intakes Supervisor

 

Position type: Permanent.

 

Role Summary:

Dawn Meats is one of Europe's leading food companies; suppliers of choice to a range of leading local, national and international supermarket, foodservice and manufacturing businesses exporting to over 50 countries worldwide. We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Forklift Operative to join an industry leader that provides opportunities for training and progression to the right candidates.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be based at Intake Department and will be responsible for:

  • Successful candidates will work as part of a team in the factory.
  • Offloading of trucks, receiving in deliveries, documenting, scanning and onward movement of product for correct storage for production for fresh chilled, frozen and dry goods.
  • Utilizing in-house computer system for movement, stock checking, planning and scanning of product for production as required.
  • Help ensure that areas are clean and tidy at all times.
  • Monitoring and reporting any damage of site or machinery to your supervisor.
  • Must be flexible for weekend work and start times as required.
  • Ensure you comply with Health & Safety regulations.

Qualifications

Your role will see you tackle a wide range of business challenges in a busy production environment. The ideal Candidate will have or demonstrate:

  • Forklift license desirable but not essential as full training will be provided to the right candidate.
  • An ability to work to deadlines.
  • Interested in future development & progression.
  • Computer literate, with demonstrated experience in E-mail, Database, Spreadsheets and Computerised Management Systems.
  • Good Organisational skills.
  • Capable of working on own initiative.
  • Assertiveness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – Fluent English is required.
  • Enjoy practical and manual work.
  • The ability to keep accurate records.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise their own and others work.
  • To be able to work as part of a team.
  • Flexible and Willing to Perform Other Tasks as Assigned
