Job title: Procurment & Finance Data Analyst

 

Location: Grannagh, Waterford


Type: Full-Time, Permanent

 

Are you curious, analytical and interested in using data to improve commercial decisions? We are looking for a Procurement & Finance Data Analyst to join our Waterford team. This role suits a recent graduate or someone with up to three years’ experience who wants to build strong analytical, commercial and problem-solving capability.

Working across procurement, finance and operations, you will turn spend, cost, invoice and supplier data into practical insights. Excel will be an important initial tool, while the role will develop with our evolving data platform, BI and automation capabilities.

Responsibilities

The succesful cadidate wil be based in our Group offices located in Grannagh Co. Waterford. Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to: 

 

  • Analyse procurement spend, cost, invoice and supplier data to identify trends, risks, anomalies and commercial opportunities.
  • Support sourcing, supplier discussions, forecasting and business decisions through clear, data-driven insights.
  • Clean, reconcile and validate information from multiple systems to improve accuracy and consistency.
  • Track and report savings, cost avoidance and cost improvement initiatives.
  • Develop dashboards, reports and recommendations for procurement, finance and operational stakeholders.
  • Use SQL, scripting, data modelling, BI and automation tools to make recurring analysis more efficient, scalable and controlled.
  • Monitor relevant commodity, market and supplier trends and assess their potential impact.

Qualifications

The Ideal candidate will have or demonstrate: 

  • A recent Graduate or up to three years’ experience in an analytical, data, finance, procurement or business role.
  • Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business, Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Strong Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables and working with large datasets.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python or another scripting language and Power BI, Qlik Sense or a comparable BI tool.
  • An understanding of basic data modelling and an interest in workflow automation, low-code tools and responsible AI-assisted analytics.
  • Clear communication skills and the confidence to question assumptions and explain findings to non-technical stakeholders.
